CriptoSalud is a medical-tourism promotion and coordination platform for international patients planning to travel to Costa Rica. It is not a clinic, hospital, insurer, emergency service, or medical-advice provider.

Principles for the CriptoSalud medical-tourism pilot.
This summary explains the scope of medical-tourism promotion and coordination, each party's responsibilities, and the minimum conditions that must be confirmed before booking or payment. It must be supplemented by terms and agreements reviewed by legal counsel.

Each independent provider determines patient eligibility, availability, scope, price, preparation, consent, diagnosis, treatment, medical records, and clinical follow-up. CriptoSalud facilitates administrative communication and coordination only.
Travel and complementary services
CriptoSalud does not guarantee visas, flights, lodging, transportation, or medical outcomes. Any complementary service is identified separately and remains subject to its provider's terms.
Direct payment and insurance
CriptoSalud initially operates on a direct-payment basis. It does not sell insurance, verify coverage, request guarantees of payment, or submit or process claims. Any insurer reimbursement depends exclusively on the patient's policy. The provider may supply an itemized invoice and available supporting documents for the patient to submit independently.
Personal data
Public forms request only basic administrative data such as contact details, home country, travel window, and service category. They must not be used to send diagnoses, records, medical images, passwords, seed phrases, or complete financial information.
Use of information
Data is used to answer requests, consult providers, and organize administrative follow-up. Access should be limited to authorized personnel, and information should be retained only as long as needed for the stated purpose.
Optional USDC payments
The service price is stated in USD or CRC. USDC is not legal tender in Costa Rica and is offered only when enabled by the provider and authorized processor. Before payment, the patient must see the exact USDC amount, supported network, validity, fees, and refund terms. Payment is made directly to the provider or through the processor identified in the quotation; CriptoSalud does not request private keys or custody digital assets.
Not an investment
USDC is used solely as an optional payment method. It is not an investment, deposit, promise of return, or ownership interest in CriptoSalud, and no provider is required to accept it.
Quotations, cancellations, and refunds
Before payment, the patient must be informed of the provider, service, total price, taxes and foreseeable charges, validity, inclusions, exclusions, preparation, cancellation, and refund method. Mandatory consumer-protection law prevails over incompatible contractual terms.
Participating providers
A provider is presented as participating only after completing applicable commercial and operational verification, permits, authorized contact, and agreement. The provider retains all clinical decisions and control over pricing.
Emergencies
The website must not be used for emergencies. In Costa Rica, people should contact 9-1-1 or attend the appropriate emergency service.
